In mine, Ezzam carved out the words تی ک ساھب in Jawi which means 'bahasa kita' in Bahasa Melayu and when translated in English, it means 'Our Language'.
This is part of an ongoing series of artworks that Ezzam is currently working on — researching, and focusing on borrowed and colonised language. Ezzam is relearning Jawi — the Arabic alphabet or writing system used for Malay or related languages. By highlighting this word on used anti-inflammatory plasters that are usually in beige color and closest to skin, he questioned the ideas of inclusivity beyond the color of skin.
